Shown is a set of Akro Agate transparent color Mexicalli Hat Type Ashtrays with their metal Stand. Note that each Ashtray has interior concentric rings. Each is also 3 and 1/4" across. This was a delightful find to add to our collection of Akro ashtrays.

Shown is a Hamilton Match Holder, with a custard, with green marbleization, Akro Agate Ashtray. The spindle and match holder tray on this piece are metal, which indicates that this item was made before WWII, when metal became scarce due to the war effort. These Ashtrays in Akro's colors or marbleization are hard to find.

Shown is a Gilco Match Holder, with a transparent topaz Akro Agate Ashtray. The spindle and match holder tray on this piece are metallicized early plastic, not metal. Gilco's Match Holders were made during the WWII years when metal was very scarce due to sequestering for the war effort.

Our collection of Akro "Tire" Ashtrays. The Akro Agate Company didn't make the rubber tire part of these ashtrays, just the glass insert. Shown are both types of Akro/Goodrich Tire Ashtrays, an Akro/US Rubber Tire Ashtray, and an Akro/Goodrich Tire Pen Holder.
These Tire items were used as promotions both with employees at their respective named companies and for the general public.
Shown is an Akro Agate blue and black marbleized insert/US Rubber Tire Ashtray. These are almost as hard to find as the Akro Agate clear glass insert US Rubber Tire Ashtrays. Both types are marked, on the Akro insert, with the US Rubber trademark logo.

Shown is a very rare Akro Agate/Goodrich Tire, blue/black marbleized, Tire Pen Holder. Only a few examples of this sort of Tire Pen Holder are known to exist. This item is now the latest "jewel" in our collection, and completes our line of Akro "Tire" items.

Our Akro Victory Safety Tray (Ashtray) white marbleized in orange and yellow. The back side is shown, as that has the best color. This tray could hold eight lit cigarettes at one time, as each arm of the Star was a cigarette rest. This is probably a WWII item made for use in factories during wartime production. The Victory Safety Trays are hard to find and usually have some chips or dings.
Our Akro Agate 5" Square Heavy Ashtray marbleized in orange and brown. These Ashtrays were the first items to be made by Akro, when they decided to expand beyond making just marbles. They were only made for a short time as they used so much glass. These Ashtrays were also sometimes used as lamp bases. This item is hard to find, especially in mint condition.
Shown is a second (mint condition) Akro Agate 5" Heavy Square Ashtray that we found recently. The Ashtray is marbleized in orange, with a small streak or two of green in it.
These two Akro Ashtrays were made for Hotel Lincoln and Hotel Edison in NYC. The entire set of 12, with both matchbook holders and without, in orange, blue, and green, are highly sought after by Akro collectors.
We finally acquired a green Akro Hotel Lincoln Ashtray (without the matchbook holder). Now we have Akro Hotel Ashtrays in each of the three colors they came in. The green ones tend to be harder to find than those in the other two colors.

These smokers' sets (see our Gypsy Smokers Set) were placed on the playing table for the card players' use. Cards games usually have four players per table.
